Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched its best-selling model series of the last 10 years – the all-new C 200 Avantgarde Line and C 300 AMG Line, priced at RM 288,334 and RM 330,681, respectively.

“The C-Class has been our bestselling model to date. Since its introduction as the 190, over 10.5 million Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been delivered globally.

“Likewise in Malaysia, our customers love this vehicle as we continue to define the standards of comfort and innovation in the premium midsize sedan segment,” said its president and chief executive officer Sagree Sardien.

The Mercedes-Benz C 200 Avantgarde Line runs on the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, while the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine powers the C300 AMG Line. Both variants are mated with the 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and the second-generation electric motor.

Performance-wise, the C200 Avantgarde Line’s combustion engine can generate 204 hp at 5,800 to 6,100 rpm and 300 Nm of torque from 1,800 and 4,000 rpm, while the C300 AMG Line produces 258 hp at 5,800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque from 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. At the same time, the electric motor gives an additional 15 kW and 200 Nm boost when needed.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the C 200 Avantgarde Line can sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and the top speed is rated at 246 km/h. At the same time, the C 300 AMG Line can complete the century sprint in 6 seconds, and the top speed is recorded at 250 km/h. The combined fuel consumption is 6.2 to 6.6 litres per 100km (l/100km) for the C 200, while the C 300 is 6.6 to 7 l/100km.

The C 200 Avantgarde Line is fitted with the Avantgarde exterior and interior, Agility control suspension with selective damping system, dynamic select, integrated starter generator, 18-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels, run-flat tyres, LED high-performance headlamps, adaptive high beam assist, electrically folding side mirrors, underbody protection, sun protection package, mirror package, memory package, stowage space package, THERMATIC automatic climate control, comfort seats, Artico man-made leather in black, leather upholstery, powered front seats with memory function and lumbar support, folding rear-seats, wireless charging system at the front, leather multifunction sports steering wheel, ambient lighting with projection of brand logo, illuminated door sills, roller sunblind for the rear passenger and electric rear windscreen sunblind.

On top of that, there is also the auto-dimming rearview mirror, silver-grey diamond-pattern trims with a crisscross look at the centre console, keyless-go system with push start button, boot lid remote closing, MBUX multimedia and navigation system, 11.9-inch central display, 12.3-inch driver display, Mercedes Me connect services, Apple Carplay and Android Auto ready, fingerprint scanner and automatic wipers with rain sensors.

As for the C 300 AMG Line, it shares most of the equipment stated above, except that the C 300 AMG Line comes with AMG Line exterior and interior, 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, Tirefit, panoramic sliding sunroof, Mercedes-Benz pattern grille, larger disc brakes for the front, Keyless-Go Comfort package, leather-wrapped powered adjusted sports seats with memory function for the front, metal-weave trim, and AMG floor mats.
