Revealing Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV– Lite, Plus and Max
Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) unveiled its new EV – the IONIQ 5 Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) at Bangsar Shopping Centre.
Premiering three distinctive variants consisting of Lite, Plus, and Max carries a price tag that ranges from RM 199,888 to RM 259,888.
The IONIQ 5 is the second fully EV model after its Kona Electric previous year and is said to have more electrified range line-ups soon.
Looking at its range-topping variant, IONIQ 5 Max offers a 72.6kWh battery pack which rides on 20-inch wheels, an inch bigger than both Lite and Plus 2WD variants. On top of that, the EV can travel up to 430km and offers 225kW/305PS with 605 Nm of max torque power.
Both Lite and Plus have 58.2kWh battery and a maximum range of 384km below the WLTP cycle. This EV features a 125kW motor that churns out 125kW/170PS power and 350Nm torque power.
Available for IONIQ 5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature, 230V electrical socket made for the Max variant which place beneath the heated rear seats. Apart from that, it offers a bidirectional exterior charging port transmitting more than 3.6 kW of power that could “fuel” e-scooter or beam for example. This feature that acts as power storage also exists in Plus variant as well.
With a 50-kW DC charger, the EV could charge from 10 to 80 percent within 47 minutes. As for a standard 11 kW home AC charger, it’s capable of charging from zero to 100 percent in 6.1 hours.
In addition, the battery is built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), supporting 400-V and 800-V charging hubs.
Exterior wise, now the model has an auto flush door handle with both front and rear merges creating one of Hyundai's Parametric Design. An impressive view of the whole outlook of IONIQ gives out a new generation appearance of Hyundai.
Stepping inside the cabin, 12.4-screens wide layout and dyed leather seats are part of its “Living Space” design based solely on eco-friendly materials.
Not to forget the Hyundai’s SmartSense advanced connectivity and driver assistance features also included for IONIQ 5 safety features.
