UMW Toyota Motor Leading 2022 With Sustainable Mobility Agenda

In conjunction with UMW Toyota Motor's agenda to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the company has launched Corolla Cross Hybrid on January 14, 2022, as part of implementing its sustainable mobility planning.

Staging its price at RM136,550 without insurance, Corolla Cross Hybrid features the 4th generation Toyota Hybrid Electric System battery.

Apart from that, the company has achieved a combined sales results of 7,528 for Toyota and Lexus. The number has increased by 96 percent which compared to last year only 3,845 units sold.


Malaysia’s favourite model, Toyota Vios reigns as bestselling model among passenger cars by 28 percent whereas Toyota Hilux takes the lead for pick-up truck segment by 38 percent of total sales.

After six years last year, UMW Toyota has reclaimed its No.1 non-national brand title and the company appears to be active in this early year.


“Stay Ahead” campaign ran in January offers a promotion featuring Toyota Vios at instalments from RM540 with RM2,216 sales tax savings, as well as the Toyota Yaris at instalments from RM493 on top of RM2,192 sales tax savings.

“We are thankful for the government’s decision to extend the Sales and Service Tax (SST) exemption incentives for passenger vehicles until 30 June 2022.” said president of UMW Toyota Motor, Ravindran K.

Then, the mobility leader partnered with Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor to aid flood victims through its ‘Back On Your Feet’ Programme. An amount of RM10,000 has been donated to SK Sungai Lui for the school’s repairs of its partially damaged premise from the flood.
