Hyundai Presents Award-Winning IONIQ 5 to First Malaysian Customers
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) celebrated the arrival of the award-winning IONIQ 5 Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) in Malaysia.
Today, it also presenting the keys to the first 11 customers at HSDM’s Ara Damansara showroom.
The IONIQ 5 is available in Lite, Plus, and Max variants, all delivering a stellar performance with excellent driving range, fast charging, a maximum speed of 185 km/hr and the innovative SmartSense suite safety feature.

The model is also equipped with advanced connectivity and driver assistance features amid its modern finish, designed with eco-friendly materials.
The IONIQ 5 has gained overwhelming response globally, winning six trophies at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2021 in the United Kingdom, including the coveted ‘Car of the Year’ award.
“This marks the second all-electric vehicle introduced by HSDM to the Malaysian market” said managing director of retail and distribution of Sime Darby Motors Malaysia, Jeffrey Gan.

“As the mobility landscape continues to see greater adoption of EV vehicles in Malaysia, we are pleased to expand our EV line-up with world-class high-quality affordable offerings, supporting the nation’s transition towards a low carbon mobility future, “ he added.
According to managing director of HSDM Low Yuan Lung, he stated redefining the electric mobility lifestyle, the IONIQ 5 sets a new benchmark with its global acclaim for combining sustainability with a powerful performance.
Since the launch in Malaysia in March 2022, Hyundai have recorded more than 300 bookings.
In terms of pricing, the IONIQ 5 starts from RM199,888 on-the-road without insurance and fully exempted from import and excise duties, sales tax as well as road tax as announced under Budget 2022.
