Importance of Car Servicing & Better Resale Value for Used Cars with BOSCH AA Malaysia
Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia (Bosch AA)’s hosted a virtual talk today with panelists from Federation of Motor and Credit Companies Association of Malaysia (FMCCAM) and its authorized technology partner, ezAuto.my, to educate car owners on proper maintenance as well as tips for a better resale value of pre-owned cars.
As of 2021, a total of 400,000 used cars have been sold in Malaysia. According to last year’s figures, sales of used cars have increased. Yet, still plenty of used vehicles seem hard to get a good rate at the recon car market.

As more room is needed to place new cars and latest units coming in the market, used cars will be sold off to the recon or used car market. Now, the community has spoken, and most car upgraders or first-time owners considered buying used cars.
But still, any tips are worthless if car owners tend to neglect the use of proper and reputable automotive replacement parts and services. This habit could burden car owners when it’s time to devalue their cars in future.
“No car is perfect, and we always urge buyers to research the make and mould of the car before any purchase,” said President of Federation of Motor and Credit Companies Association of Malaysia (FMCCAM), Datuk Tony Khor Chong Boon.
“Many Malaysians have embraced the online method of buying and selling a used vehicle instead of purchasing it from a used car dealer.” he added.
“Oftentimes, there are simple but important ways consumers can protect themselves from buying used cars with low-quality parts, normally taken from recalled batches or syndicated remakes, ” stated CEO of ezAuto.my, Charlene Chong Chia Li.
Bosch also shared some maintenance challenges and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) steps where buyers can carry out themselves to avoid falling prey to scams or too-good-to-be-true deals. These include checking the fine print on warranties and quick and easy car checks to perform.
