Following its debut at NEXTGen Malaysia in January this year, BMW Malaysia has begun pre-booking for the First-Ever BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport in Malaysia.
The i4 eDrive40 M Sport is priced from RM 389,800 (on the road, without insurance). The Easy Drive Financing Plan by BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia has monthly repayments starting at RM4,306 based on an 80 percent loan over a 5-year term.
Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, Hans de Visser said, “Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure with a modern, striking yet elegant silhouette – we are thrilled to bring to Malaysia the First-Ever BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport that retains the hallmark design characteristics of a contemporary four-door BMW Gran Coupé, while also exemplifying the exceptional sporting prowess and efficiency that the fifth-generation BMW eDrive is capable of delivering.”
The BMW i4 has a single electric motor with 340 hp and 430 Nm of torque that drives the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h time is 5.7 seconds, which is similar to the 5.8 seconds of the BMW 430i, which was launched in Malaysia last year.
With an 83.9 kWh battery, the BMW i4 eDrive40 has a range of up to 590 km on a single charge. The batteries can be fully charged in 8.5 hours using a standard 11kW onboard charger. The faster 200kW DC fast charger can charge the i4 to 80% in just 31 minutes. The batteries in the i4 are covered by an 8-year/160,000-kilometer warranty.
An M Sport body kit, BMW Laser Lights, 19-inch M Aerodynamic wheels, and M Sport brakes are among the exterior highlights. The interior's focal point is the curved screen, which features two displays of varying sizes: a 12.3-inch infotainment system with the BMW iDrive 8 operating system and a 14.9-inch display for the metre cluster.
BMW Malaysia stated that the i4 is available in Black, White, or Grey exterior colours, though the company will introduce San Remo Green, M Portimao Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey later this year.
The 17-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, 3-zone air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging are also noteworthy. The interior leather upholstery is available in Black, Mocha, or Red.
