PDRM Using Drones as To Track Road Offenders
In this festive season, around 28 cases have been reported caused by road accidents on the first day of Raya recently.
As seen on Facebook, Drone Unit of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is utilising drones in supervising road offenders by capturing those who breach the traffic law.
Flying at the height of 1,500 feet with 70km per hour, the air surveillance covers 360-degree view angle and images of road offenders taken by using a HD camera.
The DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone is set with loudspeaker to make announcements and have flight time of up to 3 hours each flight.
Among road violations recorded were captured entering emergency lane, illegal overtakes, and running red lights.
