An Uber-Luxury Off-Road Behemoth, The World’s First Rolls Royce Phantom 6x6
Ever seen a Mad Max-styled Rolls Royce, well this one is not a conceptualized design, it’s real. Behold, the Rolls Royce Phantom 6x6 in all of its six-wheeler glory.
This mad one-off was manifested by French custom car builder, Danton Alexandre, who runs his own customization shop named Danton Arts Kustoms.
Based on a 2004 Phantom, this post-apocalyptic-esque luxurious beast of a saloon stands at 6,300 mm tall and 2,300 mm wide.
Dissected, the Phantom 6x6 was hacked off from the rear door, and fitted to extend the chassis was a 2005 BMW 7 Series’ body.
Next, the rear axle from the 7 Series was then fitted to the Phantom 6x6 to accommodate the extra set of wheels.
Being an off-road behemoth, it’s only natural that it gets massive wheels. Hence, fitted was a set of 24-inch Forgiato rims wrapped with blocky off-road rubbers.
The wheels are so absurdly huge that to compensate for the size, the design required massive wheel arches to be fabricated, which are made out of aluminum.
On top of that, for a dash of chic to its robust outlook, what is noticeable inside the wheels are gold-plated brake calipers.
Elsewhere, the beast’s hide was finished in matte black, which is contrasted with yellow-tinted headlights, fog lamps and a roof-mounted LED bar.
Then, furthering its aggressive panther-like presence, the Rolls Royce Pantheon grille has been totally blacked out.
To top it all off, fitted was a beefy roof rack, side skirts, front bumper bar and tow hitch. Whereas in the boot, there is a gas canister and anti-skid tracks for extreme off-roading.
Indeed, everything about this build is unique, but one thing in particular is the Rolls Royce Starlight headliner. Unlike any other RRs, on this beast it has been flipped outside of the roof instead.
Diving into the beast’s belly, its interior hasn’t been touched much. Most of the layout features the luxury appeal expected from an opulent Rolls Royce flagship sedan.
However, it was reupholstered with a more modern and orange-colored leather, along with authentic crocodile skin leather on the steering wheel and snake leather on the center console.
Other than that, the trademark suicide doors and the Rolls Royce umbrella compartment within have also been retained.
Last but not least, the beast’s gold-leaf covered heart. The performance has not been tweaked and it’s still beating with the original 453 hp 6.7-liter V12 engine.
That said, this creation took the custom builder a year to develop and three months to complete. The French artist plans to sell the Phantom 6x6 for EUR 5 million (RM 23,256,853).
All in all, with many of the enthusiasts out there nowadays coming up with their own iterations of an off-roader Rolls Royce, this Phantom 6x6 though, is definitely the meanest thus far.
