Foshan Offers Three 'Yamaha MT' Style Budget Streetbike Models Starting at RM3.2k!
Some Chinese motorcycle manufacturers have chosen the ‘easy way’ of introducing new motorcycles by cloning popular models on the market, whether Japanese or European brands.
Foshan Muci Motorcycles (Foshan) recently surprised the market by introducing the Foshan MT, which is thought to be similar to the Yamaha MT-15 streetbike.
Among the Yamaha MT-15 designs seen on the Foshan MT are an aggressive body style, LED projector lights in the centre, and matching LED daytime running lights (DRL). In fact, the body curve isn't all that different from the Yamaha model.
Foshan offers three power train options for the MT series, namely 150cc, 200cc and 250cc with power output according to engine capacity as follows:
150cc - 11.39hp, 11.5Nm, maximum speed 100kmj
200cc - 12.8hp, 13.6Nm, maximum speed 110kmh
250cc - 16.7hp, 16.5Nm, maximum speed 125kmj
DETAILS
The 4-stroke single-cylinder is air-cooled, while the 5-speed manual clutch transmission for the 150 and 200 variants (6-speed manual for the MT-250).
All 'MT China' series vehicles have a full digital metre panel with a speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, and other information.
In the front, use an inverted fork (USD) and a monoshock in the back.
Both wheels have a single disc brake system with no anti-lock braking system (ABS).
For the Chinese market, Foshan MT is priced between 4,882 yuan and 5,885 yuan (RM3,210-RM3,870).
