Last Of Its Kind To Harbour The ICE, The Acura Integra’s Electrified Future

Keeping up with the changes, Acura, like other manufacturers across the automotive industry, has already announced its all-electric move.

One development in particular is the recently premiered Integra model that is going down in history as Acura's gasoline-fuelled finale as everything after it is going to be electrified.

Notably, the transition begins in 2024 along with an all-electric SUV, the Prologue model from Honda. Both models are set to be built by General Motors using its Ultium platform.

The rebirth of this icon as the Internal Combustion Engine’s (ICE) swan song for Honda's premium division was confirmed by Acura’s assistant vice president of national sales, Emile Korkor.

He remarked, “We are excited about what this latest Integra is going to do for building a loyal customer base as we build toward electrification.”

Acura states, most of the units will be of high-end A-Spec with Technology Package, and tags just under USD 37,000 (RM 162,208) or about USD 5,000 (RM 21,920) more than the base trim level.

Also, predicting that the market would opt for the six-speed manual gearbox, Acura plans to install a clutch pedal only in the top-end trim without making the car too expensive.

Since it utilises the same platform as the Civic, the brand was able to spread the production costs and keep the Integra attainable even in a fully loaded guise.

In short, by skipping hybrids altogether Acura is fully committed with its electrification strategy. The new Integra will be built in the United States rather than being imported.
