“Renew Your Expired Driving License Before 30th June Or Have Them Revoked” – JPJ
The 30th of June is the last day to renew an expired driver's license.
Those caught driving with an expired license face JPJ summons and will have to retake their driving tests.
Those with expired driving licenses may have them revoked if they do not renew them by the end of the month, according to the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
The driving license classes involved are:
Learner’s driving license (LDL) expired for two years.
Probationary driving license (PDL) for over a year.
Competent driving license (CDL) for over three years.
Public service vehicle (PSV) and goods driving license (GDL) for over three years.
Drivers with expired licenses have until June 30 to renew their license. If they are caught driving after that date, they will be fined for not having a valid driver's license.
Anyone who has had their license revoked must go through the entire process of obtaining a new license.
For the record, the Transport Ministry has previously issued a moratorium that allowed driving license renewals to be postponed until December 31, 2021, allowing motorists to drive with expired licenses during the pandemic lockdown.
We would like to once again, remind you that the moratorium has passed and anyone caught driving after June 30 with an expired license will be issued a summons for driving without a license.
Good news is you can renew your driving license online via Lesen2u or MyEG.
