Chinese automotive giant Geely launched its first model, the RD6 electric ute or 4X4 pickup truck which is newly formed under Radar Auto.

A leading model from the Chinese juggernaut’s is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) electric platform that offers a range of over 600 km in a single charge which accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 7 seconds.

On top of that, Radar RD6 requires both single- and dual-motor configurations featuring outputs of between 200 to 400 HP, as reported by CarNewsChina.

RD6 electric ute incorporates front boot under the bonnet, as well as a truck bed with external charging tools which comes in handy during camping.

Radar Auto stands as another independent brand, link up with Polestar and Zeekr under the Geely Holding Group. Soon, the company will have its own R&D facility in Hangzhou and a fully equipped EV production facility in Zibo, Shandong.

The Radar expected to release another four new models comprises of an SUV, a sedan-coupe-pickup truck, a large SUV, and an ATV.

Among models that could compete with RD6 goes to a 5.3m-long Toyota HiLux, Nissan Navara-based Dongfeng Rich 6 EV and LDV’s T60-based electric utes, although the body dimensions resemble 5.5m-long Rivian R1T.
