Here are the steps to get the latest ACO Tech ATLAS OS for your Proton X50!

Good news to all PROTON X50 owners!

Your infotainment system can now be upgraded to run ACO Tech's ATLAS (ACO Tech Local Automotive Services) operating system. Best part is that you can perform this upgrade at home on your own without visiting a service centre.

The upgrade offers a more refined user interface design with personal customisation in mind, improved voice command experience and intelligent warnings, as well as an enhanced navigation experience. On top of which comes the system's offer of new experiences through its app marketplace as well.

ACO Tech have released steps to do this via its Facebook page, and here's how:

To begin, users of the earlier Geely Smart Ecosystem (GKUI) operating system must go to the "Settings" menu and choose "System."

If the OTA update for your car is ready, you'll get an "Update available" notification, following which you'll need to click "GKUI 19" to proceed, followed by "Speed first" to begin downloading the new operating system.

Next, click "Install" and confirm the installation by clicking "Sure" when prompted by a pop-up message.

Take note that, while the installation takes place, you'll be unable to interact with the infotainment system. Therefore, it would be best to keep the engine running in a safe - and connected - location until the installation is complete. ACO Tech says this should take roughly 10 to 15 minutes.

Once the installation is completed, the head unit will reboot, and you can verify if you have the most recent version by going to "Settings" and clicking on "System."

The software version for the X50 Standard and Executive should be "SW0SXRA0616L5170.00582", whilst the Premium and Flagship variants should be "SW0SXRA0616H5170.00581".

If you've followed the steps detailed above correctly, you should be able to enjoy ATLAS and all its features in your X50. By the way, also keep in mind that it may take up to 14 days for all relevant cars to obtain the OTA (Over-The-Air) update.
