Ziggy The Mobile Charging Robot, Revolutionizing The EV Charging Game
Nowadays, with the number of electric vehicles on the road ever increasing, finding an unoccupied charging station is starting to become a hassle.
Fret not, a start-up company, EV Safe Charge, is in the works to make chargers mobile. Presenting the mobile charging robot, Ziggy.

First of its kind, Ziggy is basically a battery bank on wheels that can be summoned remotely, using a smartphone app or through a car's infotainment system.
Ziggy is able to find a parking space and reserve it until the EV gets to the location, and once it’s done charging the EV, it will return to its dock and self-recharge on the power grid.

Versatilely, Ziggy recharges via the grid, a solar array, or energy storage batteries. Plus, the robot offers charging even when supporting electrical infrastructure is inaccessible.
Other than that, its functionality further benefits property owners, as it eliminates the need to block off specific parking spaces for EV charging.

Build-wise, Ziggy is equipped with cameras on all four sides, a front headlight, a safety sensor band and a tail light.
It also comes with an all-wheel steering system, and large screens on both sides of its body with optional touchscreen capabilities.

The screens show users how to operate Ziggy and display the charging fees, while at the same time serving as advertisement boards.
Though the launch date is unknown, Ziggy’s production is expected to start in 2023, and EV Safe Charge claims it has secured several locations for the setup, namely around the United States.

That said, when the time comes, Ziggy will certainly bring many benefits for both the EV owners and the establishments it's set up at.
Why? Because drivers won’t have to wait for a charging spot to be unoccupied as Ziggy can meet them anywhere, and parking lots won’t need to install specific parking spots for EVs.
