2023 Honda Civic Type R unleashed new accessories and set with robust engine

Not long before 2023 Honda Civic Type R debut, the Japanese juggernaut has announced their new accessory tools which will be integrated to their latest hatchback.

For the first time, the new 2023 Civic Type R has been seen in public completed with a few official Honda Access accessories consisting of a new carbon-fibre wing that weighs 1 kg (2.2 pounds) less than the stock unit and looks far more stylish. It also takes on a new shape, with sharper profiles and a more prominent blade for increased downforce, while keeping the same metal base.

For the record, the accessories will be available in Japan beginning in September and not yet to release pricing information. At the time being, the only other exterior accessory is red-painted mirror caps that match the red brake callipers, as well as the Honda and Type R emblems.

Cabin wise, Honda offers illuminated Type R logo side-sill plates, carbon-fibre / Red polyester twill weave accents on the centre console and door cards, an aluminium shift knob wrapped in red leather, special floor mats, puddle lights, and a wireless charging pad.

At last, Honda put out a clear protective film for the rear bumper and side sills, LED lights for the boot, and a luggage tray with the Civic logo as well.

Under the hood, the sixth Civic Type R revealed that the new hot hatch will produce 326 hp and 420 Nm of torque. Through leaked info, the power ratings claim to be available between 2,600 and 4,000 rpm.

In Japan and Europe, the model produces 316 hp and 400 Nm, which is 9.8 hp extra and 20 Nm more torque than the previous one. However, it’s pretty unclear whether Honda will pull power for the North American market, where the model produces 306 hp.

In the meantime, the car marque alleges that the new Civic Type R's body is "lightweight and highly rigid," and that "enhanced suspension and steering performance" will improve driving feel although it has already set a FWD lap record at Suzuka Circuit in Japan.
