Sime Darby Motors is at the forefront of EV infrastructure expansion in Malaysia

To support the use of electric vehicles (EVs), Sime Darby Motors (SDM) is currently actively building several EV charging stations throughout the country.
SDM has identified several locations to build EV charging stations every 200 to 300 kilometres along highways throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The strategy to construct these at said distances is intended to ensure that all areas with high population density can easily reach the EV infrastructure, later.
It is understood that part of this effort includes ensuring the availability of innovative and convenient support services, regardless of new or old customers, who have purchased EVs from Sime Darby Motors.
According to SDM's Malaysia Retail and Distribution Managing Director, Jeffrey Gan, he stated that his side will continue to focus on efforts to improve energy efficiency.
"We are also proud to be able to offer a unique Sime Darby Motors customer experience for Sime Darby Motors EV owners that promises the best EV ownership experience for all Sime Darby Motors brands," he said in a statement issued today.

Meanwhile, Auto Bavaria, SDM's lead BMW dealership, is already leading the firm's efforts in building this EV charging infrastructure. Through a wide network of direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) fast charging facilities, a total of 33 charging points are now operating in and around the Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor.
In Sime Darby Motors' efforts to continue to improve services for customers, Sime Darby Motors EV owners are now eligible to receive a membership fee waiver for 10 years.
Additionally, special rate of RM2,400 will be given through the GO TO-U app ion top of enjoying free access to DC charging, and charging services at AC charging facilities provided until December 31.
