2023 Nissan "Fairlady" Z Stop Sale Order

Nissan will temporarily halt all sales of the 2023 Nissan Z automatic beginning August 29, 2022. This is based on the fact that an issue has been identified in the 9-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF. Similar issues have plagued other vehicles under the Nissan stable namely the Frontier and Titan trucks.
With regards to this, Nissan would temporarily pull back all unsold vehicles until rectification works are completed. They would also start issuing a recall to all cars sold in order to ensure the safety of its customers soon.

Nissan 9-Speed Automatic
The recall is with regards to inability of the 9-speed ZF transmission to keep the vehicle stopped while engaged in “Parking”. It is stated that the vehicle would have the tendency to roll away even when the gear selector is in”P”. The immediate temporary remedy would be for the vehicle owners to engage their Parking Brakes.

For the time being, Nissan and ZF are working on a remedy to rectify this matter and would be in-touch with the vehicle owners as soon as a fix is developed. Nissan Z automatic owners are reminded to engage their parking brake at all times for the time being.
This however does not affect the 6-speed manual variant of the Nissan Z which would continue being sold as per normal.
