DHL Express marks the first in Malaysia to shift towards a commercial electric vehicle (EV) fleet.

The company has taken a step forward when it became the first logistics company in Malaysia to now use an electric van, the CAM EC35.

As a start,  the company will provide six electric vans to make deliveries around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

All these EV vans will be used by early next month at the latest.

• Electronic brake force distribution (EBD)

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei, Julian Neo, said that DHL Express' investment is always focused on reducing the company's carbon footprint.

"Advances in electric vehicle technology play an important role and contribute to our mission to achieve zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

The launch of this electric van is a milestone in our decarbonization journey and a step forward to make clean logistics a success," he said.

Part of Deutsche Post DHL Group's global target is to electrify 60 percent of its delivery vehicles by 2030.

For that, DHL Express is expected to have more than 1,000 electric vehicles in the Asia Pacific by 2024.
