LPT 1, Major Flooding
Hear ye, hear ye! The government has decided to close part of the East Coast Highway Phase 1 (LPT 1) for flood management works starting 1 October.
This is due to the constant flooding during the monsoon season. But fret not, the LPT 1 will not be completely shut off to the public, as there will be an alternate route opened.
Currently, it is understood that the flood management project involves 11 critical areas along the highway in question.
LPT 1 Closure Info:
The first phase at KM124 is expected to take 12 months.
Emergency route to Kuala Lumpur closed for six months from October 2022 until April 2023
The KM124 emergency route to Kuantan will be closed from May until November 2023

LPT 1, Major Flooding
Senior General Manager of ANIH Berhad, Radzimah Mohd Radzi confirmed the matter and stated that the project is expected to take two years to finish.
Radzimah said, "In addition to closing the emergency route, ANIH Berhad will provide an alternative route in the area involved to ensure that traffic is at a minimum throughout the period.”
That said, not wanting users to panic, ANIH will inform all developments and information about the project on the company's YouTube channel, ANIH TV.
