Renault 5 Electrified Tribute, A Show Car The Will Surely Grab Your Attention

The Renault 5, an iconic name from the Renault stable, is set for a revival into the future as announced last year. Since then Renault has been dropping teases on concepts of what the new Renault 5 would look like. The much anticipated unveiling would be at the coming Paris Motor Show.

For its latest tease, Renault shared its tribute for the 50th anniversary of the Renault 5 brand, stating “100% electric reinterpretation inspired by the world of video games will combine outstanding exuberance with high-level performance”. This tribute show car would be unveiled in an online presentation on September 22, 2022.

What got us excited on the latest images were the massive rear spoiler fixed mounted on a silhouette of what seems to be a three door hatch. We could also see the show car sporting aggressive aero packages and wide wheels. The resemblance is uncanny to the classic Renault 5 Turbo which many would agree is one of the greatest masterpieces to come out of the French manufacturers stable. 

To keep up with the change of time, the new Renault 5 would be electric powered but no details were given on the drive motors or battery capacity. However, with the Renault 5 potentially rumoured to replace the Zoe, it would surely exceed Zoe’s 383KM single charge range. Who knows we might see variants of the Renault 5, serving to daily commute city dwellers to the hot-hatch craving weekend warriors.
