SUKE Expressway Signages Taken Down After Public Outcry

SUKE Expressway operators Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) issued an announcement on their web that all signages along the newly opened SUKE Expressway is in accordance to the Malaysian highway authority “Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM)”.

However Prolintas adds further that they value all user feedback and have decided to remove the small signages immediately and are in the midst of preparing new standard sized signages which would be more acceptable. The new signages would be put up as soon as it is ready subject to LLM’s approval.

This matter was brought to light when a viral video was uploaded by a user expressing frustration whereby the sign at the SUKE intersection was barely readable from far, creating confusion and potential danger to road users.

Signboard highlighted being taken down.

Prolintas operators also mentioned that the smaller signages were installed at gantries 250-meter before the intersection with additional signages erected in the middle of the intersection split. This was an additional initiative taken by the SUKE’s operators and consultants. However, the signages were made smaller due to space shortage.

Additionally, Prolintas says that the SUKE Expressway is safe and meets all standards with appropriate approvals as warranted by the Concession Agreement. Prolintas further denies all claims that some part of the expressway is unsafe for operation.
