The Volkswagen Fest 2022 was held over the weekend, and on the first day Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) gave an official preview of the ID.4 all-electric SUV.

Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the design of the German automaker’s e-SUV and the technology it underpins.

Performance-wise, it is powered by a 77-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 201 Hp electric motor that offers a driving range of up to 519 Km (WLTP).

To fully charge, the battery pack takes 7.5 hours using an 11-kW AC charger, whereas, using a 125-kW DC fast charger only takes 38 minutes to charge from 5% to 80%.

Exterior-wise, it stands at 4,584 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall. Its outlook has an overall curvaceous contour and is very futuristic.

Elsewhere, it is equipped with angular-looking LED matrix headlights, 3D LED taillights with a lightbar, and a set of sporty 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior-wise, it gets 30-colors of ambient lighting, Air Care Climatronic 3-Zone air-conditioning, auto-adjust ‘ergoActive’ seats, and throttle and brake iron pedals with play and pause symbols.

Besides that, it features an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ‘Discover Pro’ navigation system, wireless charger and 360-degree surround view camera.

Safety-wise, fitted are Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with ‘Stop and Go', travel assistance, and parking assistance with memory functions.

That said, its pricing is still unknown as of right now, as the all-electric Volkswagen ID.4 SUV is yet to be launched in Malaysia.

Albeit, VPCM Managing Director, Erik Winter said, the company is making every effort to bring the ID.4 e-SUV into the Malaysian market as soon as possible.
