Halloween Special Edition: Spooky Rides

Another story that happens in Cape Town involves a ‘living’ Renault Megane. The Jumping Car of Cape Town story is about a family in South Africa that was awakened in the middle of the night by the noise of a boisterous engine. 

Scared and afraid, the family assumed the gaudy and thundering echo came from their Renault Megane vehicle was about to get stolen. 

The family then hurried to their driveway but instead of a car thief, they stumble upon a bouncing car with nobody in it. A Renault Megane came to life on its own would be the last thing the family would have expected but the eyes do not lie.

After what they saw, it leaves them with the only sensible answers there are. A living spirit haunting the car. According to the onlookers, the Renault Megane "jumped" backward twice up a hill without anyone starting it. 

Although it would be interesting to have a ghost operating a car, the mystery was solved as turns out the frequent short circuits generated by a rusty starter cable were what actuated the Renault Megane's starter.

The short circuits were brought on by a rusted cable that connects to the battery supply relay box and causes the vehicle "jumped" backwards every time the cable short-circuited since it was parked in reverse, which started the starter.
