Ford Ranger Super Duty Bows In Australia as The Most Hardcore Ranger Yet

The all-new Ford Ranger Super Duty bows in Australia as the most hardcore workhorse Ranger ever made.
Ford has debuted the most hardcore, workhorse-centric Ranger model to date in Australia, known as the Ford Ranger Super Duty. Built for heavy-duty use in mind, the new Ranger Super Duty gets several key improvements over its vanilla siblings, including an improved towing capacity of up to 4,500 KG—which exceeds 1,000 KG more than the Ranger Wildtrak.

The improved towing capacity stemmed from the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 lump hidden beneath its hood, which is the same engine used in other Ranger variants in Australia, albeit slightly upgraded to meet the strict heavy-duty emission standards. No power figures were revealed for now, but Ford did say the V6 turbodiesel will be mated to the same 10-speed automatic gearbox as other Ranger models.
Besides the V6 mill, Ford has also added a front and rear differential to the Ranger Super Duty, while its chassis has been reinforced to support the extra towing capabilities. Not to forget, the Ranger Super Duty is also fitted with a 130-litre fuel tank as standard, so fuelling stops won’t be as frequent on this new workhorse.

In terms of design, the Ranger Super Duty sits higher and has a wider track than the normal Ranger variants, with the latter thanks to the flared-out fenders it comes with. The Ranger Super Duty also comes with a frame-mounted steel front bumper with attachment points for extra driving lights and a front bash plate, several Super Duty brandings, and even a custom-made intake snorkel for better water-wading.

Not to forget, the Ranger Super Duty rolls on new 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain (AT) tyres as standard, with wheel options varying from each trim level.

Things look rather familiar as we get inside the Ranger Super Duty, as it comes with the same cabin layout as other, more daily-usable Ranger variants. Some key amenities primed here include a 12-inch portrait infotainment screen, a fully digital metre cluster, an optional Integrated Device Mounting system, a slew of auxiliary switches for accessories, and many more.

Befitting its workhorse nature, Ford is offering the Ranger Super Duty in several body configurations, including Single Cab Chassis, Super and Double Cab Chassis, and Double Cab. Ford has gathered feedback and inputs from fleet managers, private services, and more than 50 companies in developing the new Ranger Super Duty, thus making it a near-perfect workhorse for discerning Aussies.

Yes, we only said Aussies, as the new Ford Ranger Super Duty is exclusively available for the Land Down Under, at least for now. With no pricing details given, deliveries for the new Ranger Super Duty are set to commence later in 2026, and we can expect more details to be given as we get closer to its debut date.
