Indonesia to have 2 million Electric Motorcycles in 2025

Indonesians adore two-wheeled transportation so much that there are 133 million motorbike owners registered there. The Indonesian government views the two-wheeled sector as the crucial starting point in reducing the country's emissions, even though scooterists and motorcyclists may dominate the roadways.
By 2030, Indonesia wants to reduce its carbon footprint by 29%. It anticipates that sustained efforts will enable the nation to achieve zero emissions by 2060. Prior to accomplishing either of those objectives, Indonesia wants to have two million electric motorcycles on the road by 2025.
Indonesia is renowned for their two-wheeled industry, which is different from those in the United States and Europe where automobile electrification is the norm. The nation's electrification goals are driven by this tilt toward manufacturers and consumers.
In comparison to three automobile companies, there are 35 electric motorcycle companies in Indonesia itself. More than that, the cost is likewise more reasonably priced.
According to Indonesia Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, now the country has around 133 million users of motorcycles in Indonesia, 5 million requests a year and 10 million requests before the pandemic.
As he sees it as a huge market, it could become a game changer that can accelerate this transformation.
