KTM Rawang Station Parking Lot Will Be Closed From November 8th
The KTM Rawang station car park and the open area in front of the station (facing the main road) will be completely closed (November 8). This is to make room for the development of a four-story parking structure.
The new car park facility, according to Railway Assets Corporation (RAC), is a Park & Ride effort by the transport ministry to improve public facilities and encourage the use of rail transit by offering a safer and more comfortable car park. The implementing agency tasked with building the facility, which would cost RM54 million, is RAC.
The four-story car park structure will include 494 parking spaces, including four for OKUs and 104 motorcycle spaces. The project is scheduled to be finished in November 2025.
In addition to the four-story car park structure, there will be a "Drop by Zone" for quicker pick-up and drop-off by buses, taxis, and private automobiles. Toilets, lifts, street lighting, walkways, and CCTVs are all included in the project.
Meanwhile, RAC is proposing alternate parking sites, such as at the Rawang bus terminal (200 metres away) and at KTM stations in Kuang, Sungai Buloh, and Serendah.
