New KTM Komuter Timetable Starts Jan 1 Amid Track Works
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will introduce a new timetable for KTM Komuter services in the Klang Valley starting Jan 1, as construction works for the Klang Valley Double Track Phase II (KVDT2) project continue.
KTMB said daily maintenance and upgrading works will still take place between 11AM and 3PM, during which no passenger train services will run on the Port Klang-KL Sentral-Port Klang route.
"To ease congestion during busy periods, KTMB will maintain 30-minute train intervals during peak hours on key routes, including Port Klang-Kuala Lumpur and Tanjung Malim-Kuala Lumpur," it said in a statement.
Under the revised schedule, commuters can also expect two additional morning services from Tanjung Malim to Port Klang, along with one new morning service to Shah Alam, all passing through KL Sentral.
"These added trips are aimed at better supporting daily commuters heading into the city," the rail operator added.

However, KTMB confirmed that shuttle bus services between Subang Jaya and Port Klang, as well as at other affected intermediate stations, will be discontinued once the new timetable takes effect.
The timetable changes will also affect the Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang route, though 30-minute frequencies during morning and evening peak hours will continue as usual.
"During this transition period, KTM Komuter trains in the Port Klang sector will operate on a single-track system between Abdullah Hukum station and Port Klang, which may affect travel times," the firm further noted.

KTMB stated that the KVDT2 upgrading works are expected to be fully completed by 2029, meaning some service adjustments may remain in place for the next few years.
Commuters can check the updated timetable through the KITS STYLE app, KTMB’s official website, or its social media platforms. For enquiries, the KTMB call centre can be reached at 03-9779 1200.
