JPJ Arrests Geng Trak Pikap Putih In Cameron Highlands
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently initiated an operation in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, to arrest foreign drivers who drive commercial vehicles without a Vocational License (GDL).
116 automobiles of various kinds were inspected as part of Operation Foreign Drivers (Ops Pewa), which involved 49 personnel of the JPJ and the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).
INSPECTION
A total of 116 vehicle units were inspected.
17 automobiles were seized, with two facing legal action.
82 summonses have been issued (foreigners 57, local citizens 25)

Vehicle roadworthiness examination
Aspects of documentation include the Motor Vehicle License (LMV), insurance, driving licence (LM), and documents linked to the Immigration Act of 1959.

Fake licence plate

No driver's licence or road tax
There is no GDL licence.
There is no insurance coverage.
Datuk Zailani Hashim, Director General of the JPJ, stated that a total of 116 foreigners' vehicles of various models were inspected. Of that amount, 19 vehicles were taken into action, with 17 of them confiscated, involving pick-up trucks (10 units) and uncontrolled lorries (7 units) for failing to comply with vehicle roadworthiness, which could lead to the absence of passenger safety protection.
"The JPJ recorded a total of 82 summons notices for various offences, including no LM, no LKM, no Vocational License, no insurance coverage, and other offences," he added.
CH Permit
CH permits are issued for commercial vehicles in Cameron Highlands, with the letters CH written on the vehicle body.
Exhibit on vehicles for those involved in the agricultural and agro-farming sector.
Movement radius of 25km and cannot be driven out of the radius boundary.
CH permit owners are only charged 10 percent of the normal price of road tax.
