Perodua Sold Over 250k Cars Between Jan-Nov 2022

National carmaker Perodua is poised to retain its position as Malaysia’s best-selling car brand for 2022. In a press statement issued today, Perodua revealed that it has sold over 250,000 cars between January and November this year.
More accurately, a total of 250,795 units were sold by Perodua in said time frame, which sees it surpass its full year target of 247,800 units announced earlier this year. The effort also marks the highest sales achievement charted by the company.

“We also achieved our highest monthly production ever since inception at 29,149 units,” adds Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad. He further notes that this was a meaningful achievement on many levels, including a demonstration of Perodua’s ability at maximising its current resources within its supplier ecosystem.
“The second is that through this achievement, we now realise that we can further increase output – both in sales and production without investing in a new plant or acquiring more land for our manufacturing operations,” said Datuk Seri Zainal further as well.

A year-on-year comparison shows that Perodua’s sales rose by 50% from 167,250 units to 250,795 units sold in the same period last year. Much of this sizeable jump in sales stems from the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown restrictions that was placed by the government last year from June to mid-Aug 2021.
Besides that, Perodua also recorded a new monthly sales record of 28,592 units in Nov 2022, marking a 40.9% increase compared to the 20,299 units it sold in Nov 2021. There was also a 10.6% increase when compared with 25,849 units sold in Oct 2022.

Perodua sold 8,089 units of the Bezza sedan through Nov 2022.

Nov 2022 also saw Perodua sold 6,624 units of the Myvi (left) and 5,812 units of the Axia (right).
Leading Perodua’s 2022 sales charge in Nov 2022 are three core models starting with the Bezza compact sedan that saw 8,089 units in total sold. Second to which comes the ever-popular Myvi hatchback with 6,624 units sold in the same month, followed by the Axia supermini that saw 5,812 units delivered in the same period too.
Looking ahead, Datuk Seri Zainal says that Perodua is looking towards maintaining this momentum. “This is to ensure that all our valued customers will receive their Perodua vehicles quicker as well as to ensure all those booked their vehicle within the sales tax exempted timeframe, will get their cars before 31 March 2023,”he adds further.
