Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid KL buses will extend the proof of concept (POC) of the Skip Stop Xpress bus service (DS01) which ferries passengers from Ampang LRT to Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) and Ampang Park direct till 14 April 2023.
This extension is due to the initial POC’s satisfactory response from passengers where the usage rate has been encouraging. This DS01 bus service is made affordable with a low fare of just RM1.90.
Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Bus, Muhammad Yazurin Sallij stated “this Skip Stop Xpress service is part of an initial study to collect data for long-term improvements and in an integrated way to improve the quality of Rapid KL services from the Ampang area towards the city center."

He further explained that the Ampang area is getting denser and needs a better public transport network for living there to commute with.
He added, "We call for more people around Ampang to take the opportunity to use the Skip Stop Xpress bus service, to go to the city center. This convenient and economical travel can help ease their daily expenses, because they no longer need to spend more on gasoline, tolls and parking every day. By riding public transport, people can also contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions in the Klang Valley. Don't wait any longer. #JomNaikBus!”
The Rapid Bus Skip Stop Xpress service operates from Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.30am to 8.00am and 5.30pm to 7.15pm to tackle the daily peak hour commute. Following the extension of the POC, Rapid Bus hopes to make this service a permanent fixture at Ampang and to further introduce this service to other areas as well.
