Geely's Zeekr 003 Sets Its Eyes On Becoming Europe's Best Selling SUV

Zeekr, the upscale EV brand under the Geely umbrella, would be launching their compact SUV this year targeted more towards the European market. They recently released some images of the model to be named Zeekr 003 undergoing road tests in Europe.

The Zeekr brand has been aggressive of late in the posh EV segment with two other models which have already been made available, the Zeekr 001 and the Zeekr 009 MPV. All these models are built based on the Geely SEA platform.

With the 003, Zeekr would most likely be eyeing the entry level premium clientele segment hoping to be one of the best selling EV SUVs in Europe. Just in 2022, Zeekr had managed to sell over 70,000 vehicles.

Based on the so called “spyshots” provided by Geely, we are able to see that the 003 unmistakably keeps to the Zeekr design que with the high up front mounted LED running light. Despite the rainbow-camouflage we are able to gather that it will feature slit-style headlights with a streamlined bonnet, retractable door handles, and an air intake in the lower part of the front bumper to aid cooling.

Also on the 003, Zeekr would be using the conventional rear view mirrors instead of cameras. The Zeekr 003 would also feature a sporty roof spoiler, and tail light mounted high up closer to the rear window giving it a single piece look.

In one of the pictures from Geely, the Zeekr 003 is seen parked behind an Audi e-tron GT. From this we are able to see how much shorter the 003 is compared to the Audi which is 4990MM. The Zeekr 003 is said to debut first in China this Apr at the Shanghai Auto Show followed by Europe.
