Zeekr 8X Specs Revealed – 2.0T PHEV, 70 kWh Battery, 328 km EV Range

Filings from China’s MIIT reveal several key details regarding the upcoming Zeekr 8X flagship PHEV SUV.
Just a few days since its first official teaser images were published, it seems like we have gotten more details regarding the upcoming Zeekr 8X, thanks to filings from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

From said data, this new flagship SUV is said to be powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain setup seen on its bigger siblings, the Zeekr 9X. While no details were shared regarding its motor setup, said four-pot lump is good enough to produce 275 hp by itself.
For reference, the 9X’s four-pot mill can be opted with up to three electric motors that combine to deliver a total system output of up to 1,381 hp, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in the world.

On the battery front, the 8X PHEV will be offered with two ternary lithium battery options supplied by a CATL-Geely joint venture. The smaller unit is rated at 55.1 kWh, while the larger unit boasts a total capacity of 70 kWh—both corresponding to pure electric ranges (WLTC) of 256 km and 328 km, respectively.
No charging details were shared for now, but we’ve been told prior that the 8X will underpin the same 900-volt architecture as the 9X, enabling it to support 6C ultra-fast charging capabilities.

More importantly, MIIT’s filing also revealed some visual bits of the 8X without the camouflage wrap, and this PHEV SUV looks like a combination of both the 9X and the Toyota Century SUV. Some key design highlights seen here include a large waterfall front grille flanked by split LED headlights, a roof-mounted LiDAR, dual-layer LED taillights with a full-width light bar, up to six wheel options measuring up to 22 inches, and many more.

Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV that sits below the 9X, the Zeekr 8X spans 5,100 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,780 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,069 mm. Six curb weights were declared on the filing, with the heaviest figure rated at 2,820 kg.
While no interior details were shared for now, CarNewsChina reported that the 8X can be opted with either a five- or six-seater layout, and expect the cabin layout and amenities to be at least on par with the flagship 9X.

Last but not least, the Zeekr 8X was previously confirmed to make its debut sometime later in the first half of 2026 (1H 2026), so we can expect to learn more about this flagship PHEV SUV as we edge closer to its official launch.
