Meanwhile, Loke stated that the increased train frequency for KTM Komuter Northern Sector trips since February 18 has resulted in an increase in the number of passengers using the service from 10,480 to 11,224 per day, a 7% increase. He stated that passengers in the northern sector and surrounding areas no longer have to wait long at the stations and can arrive up to an hour earlier.

"The Padang Besar-Butterworth Komuter timetable has been improved by increasing frequency from 60 minutes to 20 minutes during the morning peak hour and from 60 minutes to 30 minutes during the evening peak hour. "The frequency of the Padang Rengas-Butterworth-Padang route will be increased to 120 minutes during off-peak hours from 180 minutes previously. "This increases the number of trips for the Padang Besar-Butterworth-Padang Besar route from 26 to 36 trips per day, while it increases the number of trips for the Padang Rengas-Butterworth-Padang Rengas route from 12 to 16 trips per day," he said.

Loke stated that the North Sector KTM Komuter service improvement was able to meet the growing number of passengers who use the train to get around on a daily basis. "According to my observations today, many people from Kedah and Perlis work in Penang and prefer to travel by train.

"With the increased frequency and number of trips, more people will seek employment in Penang," he predicted.
