Bosch Rexroth Partners With UMP On Automation Industrial Training

Bosch Rexroth has entered a partnership with the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). In a recent exchange memorandum of understanding (MoU) ceremony, both will now work together towards providing advanced manufacturing skills for students.
This collaboration includes the development of Industry 4.0 industrial training, a student exchange program, and a series of improved learning courses that uses certification-based industrial training modules from Germany.

Head Of Bosch Rexroth Malaysia, Darren Chan, says “Industry 4.0 is a strategic pillar for us, and it will fundamentally change the way we manufacture our products and the way we collaborate with machines’’.
‘’For us, Industry 4.0 is not about replacing existing workers with robots and computers. It is about building talents and upskilling to fit for the digital economy - driving efficiency and competitiveness,’’ he added.
Furthermore, the program encompasses certification programs for UMP students especially in the Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, and Bachelor of Engineering programs.
The engineering firm introduced a new advanced training centre based on Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) technology - UMP Rexroth Bosch Academy. The facility is also subservient in powering IR4.0 migration among industries including the East Coast of Malaysia.

Apart from being equipped with necessary training equipment from Bosch Rexroth’s training academy, it also adds syllabuses and modules tailored to the local market.
Bosch Rexroth also developed the mMS4.0 for universities and educational institutions that see it as a training system for Industry 4.0 where content can be learned practically by fellow students.
“UMP Bosch Rexroth Academy is developed with three main pillars: to achieve the TVET Aspiration (MTUN), develop the IR4.0 Hi-Tech Advanced Training Centre and support the IR4.0 National Agenda’’ according to UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Yuserie.
He also remarked through the new academy-offered pillars, UMP students get to experience the most advanced automation equipment in the industry.
