Ora Good Cat Being Presented To Tengku Zafrul

Great Wall Motor Malaysia (GWM Malaysia) presented a unit of the Ora Good Cat to the Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, yesterday as part of the ministry's research into EV policies for the country. The Ora Good Cat 500 Ultra in Hazel Wood Beige will be used as a long-term test drive unit for the ministry, with relevant departments studying the electric vehicle's daily usage pattern. Tengku Zafrul stated recently in his plans to accelerate EV growth in the Malaysian market that the government aims to attract RM20 billion in EV investments by 2025. GWM Malaysia's delivery of the long-term test drive unit demonstrates its support for the government's efforts to become a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions country.

“The EV industry must be viewed holistically, including factors such as software, technical, equipment, engineering and others, as it plays a crucial role in achieving the country’s net-zero greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050,” said Tengku Zafrul.
In support of the statement, Great Wall Motor ASEAN Region President, Elliot Zhang said, “I fully endorse Minister Tengku Zafrul’s statement on the potential of building a strong EV foundation in ASEAN countries and specifically in Malaysia to strengthen the EV network.”
Zhang also stated that a strategic partnership with the Malaysian government would aid in the region's growth and adoption of sustainable transportation solutions. The company reiterated its commitment to promoting sustainable mobility solutions in Malaysia, and it is ready to collaborate with the government to introduce more environmentally friendly vehicles to the market as part of the country's effort to meet its net-zero greenhouse gas emissions target. Aside from the long-term loaner unit, GWM Malaysia recently presented the Secretary General of MITI with an Ora Good Cat 500 Ultra for a series of test drives.
