Touch 'n Go e-Wallet App Gets New Security Layer, Credit Card Reload Transfer Limit

It appears that the Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet app by Touch ‘n Go Digital (TNGD) has received several updates for this month. Key amongst which is a new security verification feature, followed by a revised monthly transferable limit for credit card reloads.

On the security front, a new TapSecure security feature has been added. Said new feature is a new verification tier added into the app that requires users to perform a one-tap approval to both enable and securely verify e-wallet transactions.

Besides that, TNGD also updated the app’s e-wallet monthly transferable limit of RM1,000 for reloads using credit cards. The new limit now applies to users on the Pro and two Premium tiers, the exception here being Lite tier users. Users who need to transfer more will still be allowed, but additional fees will be levied.

Upon reaching the accumulative RM1,000 per month limit, any subsequent manual reloads using credit cards will see the option to categorise and choose the reloaded sum as transferrable or non-transferable. The former sees a 1% administration fee applied per transaction.

As for credit card reloads exceeding the RM1,000 quota done via the app’s auto reload method, these will be categorised as non-transferable and the 1% admin fee is waived.

This new monthly transfer limit on credit card reloads appears to be a move by TNGD to curb credit card cash-outs as users who do so tend to use it as a way to dodge high interest payments on credit card cash advances.
