ChargeSini, one of the leading EV Charging Solutions providers in Malaysia had recently launched their Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station which is located in Megaview Hotel, Kuantan. The EV charging facility was officiated by YH Dato' Hamdan bin Hussin, the Datuk Bandar of Kuantan as part of the collaborative effort between BLH Ecoenergy Sdn Bhd dan Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan (MBK).

The two bay charging facility would be serviced by a 40kW DC Charger equipped with two CCS2 charging guns making it possible to simultaneously juice up two EV at the same time and a 22kW AC charger.

Users can access this charger by using the ChargeSini mobile app that’s available on both the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). To further prevent misuse of the parking lot meant for EV charging (ICE-ing), there are also automated parking barriers installed which would automatically lower down when your session is activated via the Chargesini mobile app.

According to YH Dato’ Hamdan, plans have been set to have 160 public EV chargers at 55 locations around Kuantan city by 2025. This target is part of the state government's effort to make Kuantan a smart city that would contribute to the country's environmental sustainability.

He further added that at the current moment, EV charging stations in dedicated parking lots in Kuantan are available at Mega View Hotel and Kuantan City Complex, Berjaya Megamall, Seri Dagangan Center Complex and Air Putih. MBK will continue forward the installation of EV charging facilities whereby 2024 another 16 locations with 47 chargers will be installed, and then in 2025, with as many as 30 locations involving 80 chargers in plans.
