Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan Closed For ECRL Works
The Dungun district police has announced a road closure on Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan, specifically at Durian Mentangau on the T118. The road will be closed to all traffic from April 4 to 7, to allow for the start of beam work for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.
The trunk road will be closed twice a day, from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Alternative routes to Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan have been suggested by local police officers. Those travelling north from Kuantan should take the road to Kemaman and Paka; those travelling south from KT should take the road to Pulau Serai - Che Lijah.
As an alternative, one may travel along Jalan Jerangau Jabor or the LPT2 highway. Follow the directions of the workers at the job site and plan your route.
According to Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project is currently 40.81 percent complete in the four states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and Selangor.
According to its chief executive officer Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak, the ECRL has made 51.94 percent progress in Kelantan.
