New ‘Connected’ And ‘Electrified’ Perodua Concept Teased

National carmaker Perodua looks set to steal the limelight next week at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023. Earlier this week, the firm dropped a teaser on both its Facebook and Instagram pages, showing a silhouette of what appears to be a new concept car christened as the ‘EMO - Electric Motion Online’.
From what we can see in the sole teaser released, we’re certain that this concept will firstly be electrified, though it remains unclear if it will debut as a full or battery electric vehicle (BEV). We won’t discount the possibility of it being a petrol-electric hybrid (HEV) based on hints dropped by Perodua in recent times.
Electrified nature aside, we’re also certain that the concept will feature a high degree of connectivity. Nothing’s certain for now, but we can likely expect Perodua to perhaps showcase or demonstrate several new internet-enabled capabilities in this concept that will perhaps make their way into future models.
At this point, we also won't discount the possibility of this new concept previewing a potential new generation model from the second national brand. However, with the exception of the Bezza sedan, the bulk of Perodua’s current crop of cars are relatively new still, so this might be a less likely outcome.

Presently, Perodua's sole HEV offering, the Ativa Hybrid, is offered through a special 'subscription' program.
Either way, the national carmaker has got something rather exciting to show off to the Malaysian public, and we won’t have to wait long to see it. As noted, the concept will bow next week during the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 happening at MAEPS, Serdang, from May 4 to May 7.
Is there a specific new tech that you would be excited to see developed by Perodua through this upcoming concept? Hit the comments below with your thoughts then.
