Perak Will Improve Automotive Facilities In Tanjung Malim For China's Investments, Says MB
According to Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, the state government will provide and improve facilities and infrastructure in Tanjung Malim's Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) to welcome China's automotive investments.
Saarani stated that among the plans are the construction of more affordable houses and a new school, following the relocation of Proton's entire operations from Shah Alam to Tanjung Malim by 2027.
"The emphasis will be on providing the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the number of workers who will come to Tanjung Malim's AHTV, which will create a new township and boost the domestic economy by attracting retail companies to operate in the area," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation received a total of RM32.5 billion in investment as a result of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent visit to China.
The total investment includes two Chinese companies: Geely Automotive for electric vehicles and DC-Science Co Ltd for data centres. Meanwhile, Saarani stated that the state government had applied to the Ministry of Education for the addition of more schools in the Mualim district.
