2023 VW Arteon R-Line 4Motion Gets New Kit Including ADAS – Now At RM299,990

2023MY VW Arteon R-Line 4Motion, now re-specced with ADAS and some new kit on board.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has refreshed the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4Motion model for Malaysia. Announced earlier today, the four-door fastback saloon now features a host of new kit that includes a full swing of advanced and active driver assists (ADAS).

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is now standard in the Arteon R-Line 4Motion as part of the IQ.Drive suite.

Additionally, IQ.Drive also adds Front Assist (left) and Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (right).

Like the recently re-specced VW Golf GTI hot hatch, the VW Arteon R-line 4Motion is now laced with the Volkswagen brand’s IQ.Drive ADAS suite that adds adaptive cruise control (ACC), Side Assist with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Front Assist, and Lane Assist, all of which now coming as standard equipment.

On board, the kit list is now bolstered with the addition of a new wireless smartphone charging unit. This feature was previously unavailable in the model, but it now comes as standard equipment through this latest re-spec.

New features added also sees the 2023 VW Arteon R-Line 4Motion now commanding a higher RRP of RM299,999.

Naturally, with more kit laced, the model’s price has also experience a justifiable hike. The base retail price now reads at RM299,999 excluding registration costs and insurance – up from the RM256,997.30 base figure it previously commanded.

Yes, quite that’s quite the hike, but you’re arguably getting a very sleek – and relatively quick – four-door fastback. This stems from the model’s employment of a peppy 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo powerplant that outputs 276 HP (280 PS) and 350 NM.

Also present on board is a premium 700 watt and 12-speaker audio system sourced from Harman Kardon.

Drive goes to all four wheels via 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic, thus allowing rapid 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 5.6 seconds. Matching this speed is a Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) suite with five selectable drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual.

Besides that, key equipment also include snazzy 19-inch alloy wheels, premium 700 watt Harman Kardon 12-speaker audio system, the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit suite, 30-colour cabin ambient lighting, powered tailgate, as well as a 360-degree parking monitor, amongst many.
