Aston Martin Teases Next-Gen DB GT Model Ahead of May 24 Debut

Aston Martin is working on a next-gen high-performance grand touring (GT) model, which it set to make its global debut sooner this month. Prior to its launch, the Gaydon-based boutique marque has previewed a set of teaser images, showcasing a glimpse of the next-gen DB GT model.

One of the teaser images showcases the new model sporting familiar front fascia look, featuring more prominent headlights design and the signature AM front grille. Apart from that, nothing more can be derived from this shadow-draped teaser image, except for the long front hood design, denoting this model will sport a front engine layout – as any GT models should.

The second image, on the other hand, confirms that this car will feature a GT coupe body style. This side profile image of the new model also shows it rides on tasty-looking wheels with multi-spoke design, imbued in gold hue. And just like the first photo, there’s nothing else to take from this purposely-darkened image.

The third and final teaser image depicts the new model’s central console design, which features a big circular button, which probably acts as the car’s ignition switch. Said button is surrounded by several driving-related controls, including the exhaust mode changer, stability and traction control setting, climate controls, and many more.

Apart from that, the image also showcased a smaller display mounted at the front part of the central console, perhaps used as a complementary screen for the car’s main infotainment display.

Aside from all three teaser images, Aston Martin has remained tight-lipped on other details of the new model. The automaker, however, insists that this new GT model won’t just be a next-gen DB model per se, as it will also “break free from the norms of the GT sector." Few rumours flying over the mill even suggest that this will be a special one-off model to be launched in conjunction with the DB’s 75th anniversary.

But more importantly, AM also did not shed any light on the new model’s powertrain setup, particularly on whether it will feature some form of electrification or not. As we’ve previously reported, the marque is planning to produce an EV model that will be part of its new line-up, as confirmed by AM chairman Lawrence Stroll.

At this point, our best bet is to just wait for this teased model to make its global debut, later on May 24 this year. By then, all of the questions and rumours surrounding it will be answered, once and for all.
