ChargeSini Powers New MINI EV Charging Facility in Melaka

Local EV charging solutions provider ChargeSini collaborated with BMW Group Malaysia and the brand’s longest-serving dealer in Melaka, Seong Hoe Premium Motors. Together, the firm now powers the new MINI EV charging facility located just 2 KM away from Jonker Street – the historical state’s renowned tourist destination.

“We are seeing rising demand for not just electrified vehicles amongst our loyal customers in Malacca but also proper infrastructure to support them as well, especially amongst tourists who are visiting and exploring our rich heritage here during the weekends and long holidays,” said Loy Suan Chiow, general manager ofSeong Hoe Premium Motors.
“Together with BMW Group Malaysia, we are ever-ready to support the growing market for Electrified Mobility in Malaysia and we are happy to have also partnered with leading smart EV charging provider – ChargeSini, to deliver on this commitment,” adds Loy.
“Through this venture with Seong Hoe Premium Motors, ChargeSini is proud to be part of BMW Group Malaysia’s EV charging network expansion efforts. We also look forward to pursuing more partnerships as such with BMW Group Malaysia and its dealer network,” said James Goh, founder and CEO of ChargeSini.
Apart from powering up this new EV charging facility, the local start-up recently held a fundraiser, where it successfully raised over RM 5 million. You can read more about it by clicking these blue words.

This new MINI EV charging facility is located at the main entrance of the Bank of China on Jalan KSB 1, Taman Kota Syahbandar, Melaka. It features four parking lots with two Nexus 22 kW AC chargers and a Stellar40 40 kW DC charging station with dual output cables – all powered by ChargeSini.
As for charging rates, these publicly-accessible chargers see a minimum fee of RM5 upon booking confirmation, followed by RM0.07 per minute for 3.7 kW charges and below, and up to RM3.47 per minute for charging above 120 kW. To combat charger-hogging, an idle fee is levied at a rate of RM1 for every five minutes the vehicle remains idle at the charging bay upon attaining full charge.

On a broader scale, this newly-launched MINI EV charging facility from Seong Hoe Premium Motors and ChargeSini will join BMW Group Malaysia’s vast charging network of over 1,000 charging facilities across the country that are also powered by other partners beside ChargeSini.
Aside from this new charging facility, BMW Group Malaysia promises to expand its charging network further as part of the strategic infrastructure expansion plan set for the year ahead. As for now, over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are available at most authorised BMW Group Malaysia’s dealerships, as well as partnering venues across the country.
