ChargEV RM1.20/kWh DC Charging Rate - Starbucks & Ayer Keroh R&R Southbound

ChargEV seems to be on a roll, turning its DC charging facilities to kWh-based pricing stations at a standardised rate of RM1.20/kWh. The DC charging facilities at all Starbucks locations, as well as Ayer Keroh R&R Southbound, are the most recent to adopt this pricing strategy.
There are 17 charging sites put up through Starbucks collaborations with ChargEV, with the majority housing a slower AC charger and several larger outlets containing 60kW DC chargers to bring convenience to coffee aficionados. The 17 Starbucks locations that have ChargEV chargers are listed below.
| ● Starbucks Kota Kemuning Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Reserve™ Setia Alam |
| ● Starbucks Ukay Perdana Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Conezion Putrajaya Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Eco Gradeur Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Rimbayu Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Jade Hill Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Reserve™ Eco Majestic Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Eco Horizon Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Icon City Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Hillside Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Juru (R&R) Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Tanjong Tokong Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Malim Jaya Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Bandar Seri Alam Drive-Thru | ● Starbucks Seri Austin Drive-Thru |
| ● Starbucks Skudai (R&R) Drive-Thru |

In addition to that, the Ayer Keroh R&R Southbound 50kW DC charger would also be priced similarly at RM1.20/kWh. However EV users have to take note that if you are using the AC charging extension on the ChargEV DC chargers you would still be charged the DC rates of RM1.20 per minute. So choose your ChargEV charger units carefully, unless you are left with no choice.
On another note, we would also like to report that the ChargEV main website seems to be down at the time of print, making access to the website, FAQ and Privacy Policy inaccessible.

It is also good to point out that in its social posting, ChargEV members are commenting that there are no advantages of being a member which would require an annual fee of RM240 yet they are still subjected to the same charging rates as non-members.
