CIMB Petronas Visa Islamic Credit Cards Offer Cash Rebates For EV Charging

The official launch of the CIMB PETRONAS Islamic Visa Credit Card at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023.
CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad and PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad have launched the new CIMB PETRONAS Visa Islamic Credit Cards, which offer users the highest PETRONAS cash rebate credit cards in the market. The CIMB PETRONAS Visa Infinite-i and CIMB PETRONAS Visa Platinum-i Credit Cards are also the first in Malaysia to offer cash rebates on electric vehicle charging at PETRONAS stations and cashless parking nationwide. In conjunction with the launch, both parties announced the 'Drive4Rebat Hebat' Contest, in which one lucky cardholder of the new Cards will win the grand prize of a brand new Hyundai Kona.

To help customers manage their day-to-day expenses, the cards offer up to 12% cash rebates on petrol, Setel, and EV charging at PETRONAS and rewards up to RM120 in cash rebates per month, including up to 6% cash back on groceries, dining, and cashless parking spend.
In addition to rebates, Cardholders can take advantage of CIMB's 0% Easy Pay with interest-free installment payments on car servicing at over 50 Proton and Perodua service centres nationwide.
Effendy Shahul Hamid, Chief Executive Officer, Group Consumer and Digital Banking of CIMB Group said, “We are delighted to expand on our collaboration with PETRONAS, now in its 15th year, by introducing the CIMB PETRONAS Visa Islamic Credit Cards, including the first Visa Infinite petrol card in the market.

The inclusion of EV charging cash rebates as part of the perks for these new cards is yet another indication of local financial institutions' growing interest in the green vehicle segment.
Prior to the new Visa Islamic credit cards, CIMB had previously launched a comprehensive financial solution specifically for EVs, and other local banks such as Maybank, RHB Bank, Bank Islam, and Bank Muamalat have also begun to offer green vehicle offerings.
