Previewed: Neta V EV – Malaysia’s Most Affordable EV, From RM99K!

The local EV market is getting more interesting this year, as Chinese EV brand Neta has officially landed in Malaysia, taking place at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2023. More importantly, the firm has previewed its entry level offering, the Neta V EV crossover, which is now the most affordable EV available in the market.

The Neta V posits itself as a compact EV crossover, with fastback design and a rather small footprint, making it belong to the A-segment. In charge of powering the Neta V is a single electric motor layout rated at 127 HP (95 kW) and 160 NM, blasting it from nought to 50 KM/H in 3.95 seconds – which is more than enough for daily urban drives.

In charge of juicing up the powertrain setup is a 38.5-kWh CATL-sourced battery pack, granting the compact EV a claimed travel range of 380 KM, according to NEDC test procedure. To fill up the battery, the Neta V supports both AC and DC charging, with the latter taking about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.

Visually, the Neta V carries the typical Chinese EV look and design language, featuring a curved and rounded bodystyle, with several sharp-edged elements around it. At the front, the Neta V sports a pair of sharp-looking headlights design that matches the taillights design. And just like any other EVs, the Neta V does not come with a front grille.

On board, things are rather impressive in this budget-friendly EV, primed with a central-mounted infotainment screen, measuring at 14.6-inch. In-line with the brand’s trademark as the ‘Touchable Smart EV’, all of the car’s essential controls, including the vehicle setting and climate control are only accessible via said infotainment display.
Safety-wise the Neta V is not too shabby, as it comes standard with a slew of passive safety features like ABS with EBD, EPD, EHB, as well as dual airbag. As for the ADAS feature, the car is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

The all-new Neta V is now open for booking, with prices starting at RM99,800 on-the-road, with deliveries set to commence from Q3 2023 onwards.. For that price, customers will get a 10-year or 200,000 Km body warranty, 5-year or 150,000 KM general part warranty, as well as a dedicated 8-year or 180,000 KM EV high voltage part warranty.

Special for the first 100 customers visiting the Malaysia Autoshow 2023, Neta is offering up to RM10,000 worth of vouchers. Customers can place their bookings for the Neta V via Neta Malaysia’s official website, from May 3 to 7, 2023.
