You Can Get A New ‘Ferrari Purosangue’ For Only $15,995!

The new Ferrari Purosangue is officially sold out for two years!

Upon making its global debut, the Ferrari Purosangue has garnered rave reviews from experts and fans alike, so much so that Ferrari has closed its order books, with the model fully-booked for the next two years.

Should you miss out the chance to get this Maranello-built super-SUV, perhaps this 1:8 scale model by renowned scale model specialist Amalgam Collection would scratch your itch a bit, albeit at a slightly smaller scale and relatively lower price tag. Mind you, this is no HotWheels or Matchbox scale models, as Amalgam have precisely engineered thousands of parts and components to create this elaborate scale model.

To achieve sheer precision and almost-perfect likeness, the firm used original CAD designs, paint codes, as well as material specifications all directly sourced from Ferrari. Measuring 620 MM long, this Amalgam scale model needed over 3,000 hours of development time, with each of the 199 hand-built units requiring over 300 hours of work to be completed. 

As a result, this Purosangue scale model bears very close resemblance to the actual SUV, so much so you will be forgiven for confusing them with the actual car, at least from the photos.

Unsurprisingly, all that hard and extensive work does not come cheap, as the Ferrari Purosangue 1:8 scale model by Amalgam starts at $15,995 (RM72,553) for the standard model with Rosso Corsa exterior and black interior. Said price tag can go up to $20,795 (RM94,409) for the Bespoke edition, where you can specify the exterior paint colour, interior colour, wheel style, and calliper colour.

Though $16,000 sounds ridiculously expensive for scale models, mind you that said price is still a far cry from the actual Purosangue price tag of $400,000 (RM1.816 million approx.). But then again, you’ll only get a smaller display model that neither carries a 6.5-litre V12 mill rated at 715 HP under its hood, nor can go from nought to 100 KM/H in just 3.3 seconds.

For those who are not familiar with Amalgam Collection, this Bristol-based scale model maker has been making fine model cars since 1995. Aside from new sportscar, the company also creates iconic racecars and classic Formula One replicas, with varying scales that can go as big as 1:1.
