Launched: Ferrari Roma Spider – From RM3.2 Million

The newly-launched Ferrari Roma Spider is the brand new Ferrari you can actually buy now!
Unlike the Purosangue, this is a brand new Ferrari that you can actually buy now, and it is called the Ferrari Roma Spider. This V8-powered soft-top convertible made its arrival into our local market at the new Ferrari Ital Auto Malaysia showroom located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur – operated by the newly-appointed official importer Ital Auto Malaysia.
Replacing the Portofino M as the marque’s new flagship cabriolet, the Roma Spider marks a pretty special milestone in Ferrari’s long history of sportscars, being the Italian marque’s first front-engined soft-top convertible model since the iconic Ferrari 365 GT4 – launched more than five decades ago.

The Roma Spider carries the same design as its Coupe twin, now in a topless form.
Penned by Ferrari Styling Centre headed by Flavio Manzoni, the Roma Spider looks pretty much similar to its coupe namesake, featuring the same sporty GT body style, aside from the obvious soft-top convertible roof. Ferrari claims that this soft-top roof is operable at moving speeds up to 60 KM/H, with the whole operation taking about 13.5 seconds to complete.

Dare we say, the new Celeste Trevi colourway looks very stunning on the Roma Spider.
For those who aren’t keen on the default black-hued fabric roof, Ferrari offers a slew of customisation options for the Roma Spider’s soft-top roof that include bespoke fabrics with contrasting stitching in various hues. Speaking of hues, the new Roma Spider also comes in this new Celeste Trevi body colour, aside from other Ferrari’s signature colourways like the Rosso Corsa, Giallo Modena, and many more.

On board, the Roma Spider gets a similar cabin design as its coupe twin, featuring the dual cockpit concept with two separate spaces for the driver and front passenger. Apart from both the driver’s digital instrument cluster and the 8.4-inch vertical infotainment display with wireless mobile connectivity support (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), the cabin also comes with an optional 8.8-inch third display for the front passenger, garnering them access to the climate and media controls, among others.
Despite carrying a retractable roof, the Roma Spider still boasts a decent 225-litre boot space at its tailgate, plus a ‘livable’ second-row seat space. Elsewhere, this soft-top model also gets a redesigned steering wheel that ditches the finicky touch-sensitive controls for recessed buttons – giving drivers a better ‘feel’, especially when driving.

The Roma Spider retains the award-winning V8 mill of its Coupe counterpart, outputting 612 HP & 760 NM
As we mentioned earlier, the Roma Spider is powered by a V8 mill that is also borrowed from the Coupe variant. This award-winning 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 power plant still makes 612 HP and 760 NM, while capable of singing at up to 7,500 RPM. Said mill is exclusively mated to an 8-speed F1 DCT gearbox, of which it shares with other high-performance Ferrari models like the SF90 Stradale.
In spite of weighing 84 KG more, the Roma Spider still has the same level of performance as the Roma Coupe, capable of a century sprint finish in just 3.4 seconds, en route to its V-max of 320 KM/H.

Tagged at only RM3.2 million inclusive of duties and taxes, could the new Ferrari Roma Spider become your next garage companion?
The all-new Ferrari Roma Spider soft-top convertible is now available for booking in Malaysia from RM3.2 million inclusive of duties and taxes. More importantly, all new Roma Spiders are offered with an extended seven-year maintenance programme that covers all the regular maintenance work, which will be performed at Ital Auto Malaysia’s official aftersales centre in Glenmarie.

Those who are keen to size-up the new Roma Spider and the ‘forbidden’ Purosangue can visit the newly-opened Ferrari Ital Auto Malaysia’s showroom, located at the Ground Floor of the Four Seasons Place in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. You can also learn more about other Ferrari products and services in Malaysia by visiting Ferrari Ital Auto Malaysia’s official website.
