ChargEV Adds 2 New Location - Starbucks Seremban 2 & Kuantan - 60kW DCFC, RM1.20/kWh

With the opening of two new charging stations at Starbucks Seremban 2, Negeri Sembilan and Starbucks Indra Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang, ChargEV is expanding its DC charging network even further. This comes after the company opened its Starbucks Port Dickson Drive-Thru at the Port Dickson Waterfront in Negeri Sembilan just last week.

Both of these charging stations would be powered by an EXICOM DCFC Dynamic 125A/60kW Dual CCS2 charger furnished with two (2) CCS2 charging guns capable of simultaneously charging two EVs. These DC chargers can output 60kW of electricity when only one EV is plugged in, however when two EVs are plugged in, the output is split to 30kW for each nozzle.

Those who wish to charge their vehicles at these places must first download the ChargEV smartphone app, and charging sessions will cost RM1.20 per kWh. Both stations would be capable of charging two EVs at the same time.
The added benefit of these charging stations is their placement, which allows drivers to use Starbucks outlets not just to enjoy a cup of coffee but also to get some work done. Our only criticism of these charging stations is the lack of parking barriers to discourage ICE’ing. Perhaps ChargEV staff could work at adding this in the near future.
