JPJ Product Recall Notice – Ford, Kia, Mercedes-Benz Affected
The Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ) has published a new product recall notice today, concerning several brands like Ford, Kia, and Mercedes-Benz. Posted via JPJ Malaysia’s official Facebook page, this is the second time that the department has published such a notice, with the first edition of the product recall announcement made back in April this year.

Starting with Ford, this recall notice involves a slew of recent models, with a total of 7,388 units affected altogether. Included on this recall list are a slew of Ford Ranger and Everest models coded 22C34, 22C36, 23C06, 23C10, and 23C11 – all manufactured from 2021 to 2022.

Next on the list is Kia, with only two models affected being the Kia Sorento (UM) at 818 units, and the Kia Sportage (QL) at 313 units. The affected units are manufactured from 2015 to 2020 for the Sorento, and 2015 to 2021 for the Sportage.

As for Mercedes-Benz, a total of five models are being recalled, with most of them being new ones. Starting with the W206-gen C-Class duo, 51 units of the C200 manufactured from 2021 to 2022 are affected, as well as 28 units of the C300 – also manufactured from 2021 to 2022.

Besides the C-Class duo, this product recall also concerns the C118 second-gen CLA class model manufactured in 2022, with only 11 units affected. Elsewhere, few Mercedes SUVs like the G-Class, GLE and GLS are also affected, with the former concerning 128 units and the latter at 36 units only.

Aside from cars, this latest recall JPJ also involves several motorcycles, notably the Yamaha R25 and MT25 duo at 1,165 and 1,240 units respectively, as well as 32 units of the Honda CB250R.
This product recall announcement is a new initiative by JPJ that started this year, after the department received lots of complaints from automakers and OEMs, where they have faced difficulties in contacting and tracking owners of the affected units.
Aside from that, JPJ also urges vehicle owners to update their contact details at any authorised dealerships, as well as with the department itself to ensure that they can be easily contacted should there’s another product recall happening.
